Sunset in Old Town, Lanscape Speedpaint (Photoshop Digital Painting)

Speed painting of the Rail crossing East of our downtown. Painted with Photoshop on my Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 with Wacom Stylus and Wacom Feel drivers. I took the photo with my cell phone walking during sunset and had to paint it! The fun part was not doing any drawing, but just working directly with blocks of value…
The process:
1. Start with blocks of dark values
2. Cover the canvas with the rest of the value range (local color)
3. Begin working on edges, refinements, and detail
4. Push and pull some values
5. The end…

  1. Hi. I have been following your videos lately and I appreciate your work very much. I'm new to the world of digital painting and so I have quite a few doubts here. I have downloaded the brushes mentioned here, but one thing that has been bothering me is the tool preset. Which tool preset have you used for this particular art? Please get back to me whenever you can. Thank you. 🙂

  2. Unlike Artrage, which has a lot of inbuilt canvas settings for various purpose like essential canvas, basic canvas and stuff, does photoshop have these kind of textures to alter the canvas grain and texture? The painting is really beautiful, but how did you manage to set the canvas properties? I'm totally new to Photoshop so I would really appreciate it if you can help me out. Cheers! 🙂
