Right before Christmas holiday CutestVoodoo posted a challenge that I thought was kind of awesome and I wanted to try my hand at it. (You can find that video here: https://youtu.be/At9hb4Zpzr8)
This is my idea of Ariel as a sea monster. I tried to include some of the things you’d see in her grotto collection, to kind of tie it back to the movie, but I think that got a little lost in it.
She’s not nearly as grotesque as Cutest Voodoo’s version, but, in my mind, real monsters are those who appear as ordinary as everyone else. Then, in this siren’s case, when you see below the water you’ll find the darker secrets.
I had a lot of fun with this piece, even if it took me close over 7 hours from start to finish (hence the longer video this week).
