  2. This video came at the perfect time! the productivity mindset has totally warped my sense of creativity, I'm finding that I'm always thinking about the next piece instead of focusing on whatever I'm currently doing. I think for the rest of the year I'm going to limit myself to one finished piece a week instead of trying to get as many pieces done as possible 🙂

  3. Thank you for this topic!!! I keep going through similar situations, and I specifically feel this way when I have to watch out for a deadline.
I liked how you worked on something other than the main project you were stuck on, I will try doing this next time I feel pressured into rushing a piece in a way that I'm not sure about.

  4. Sometimes I feel like you try to fill every little bit of space with color. I used to do that too. But try, I'm just suggesting – to leave some space white. it was liberating for me and it made my pieces lighter.

  5. Wonderfull that you finally come to sense with working on your stresslevels. Something so common can really disturb and destroy so many important factors of ones life. Regardless of if its about health or work or creativity. Im cheering on you Danica!

  6. hey! i wanted to thank you for inspiring me to get back into drawing! I've seen tons of videos created by other people but your channel has pushed me to pick it back up again! i was also wondering what are the specs (height, width, resolution, etc.) of a typical document in Photoshop, thank you and keep up the inspirational videos!

  7. I love this so much but like I'm also really really really excited for Saturday's video. Not just because I love the concept and think the figure looks like Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides, but because of the amount of thought and care I know it will go through (or is going through right now probably xD) but yeah can't wait til Saturday !

  9. I have been watching your videos for about 6 months now. You are literally my favorite youtuber right now. You go into concepts and talk about color comps when most youtube artist don't talk about that aspect of a piece. Keep doing what you're doing. You inspire me with every video. Thank you <3

  10. 1. I love this piece, it's gorgeous. Will you do prints of it?
    2. This topic is unbelievably relatable and relevant, it's 5am here and I have been working on a commission piece all through the night rushing to just try and get it done, decided to take a break and go on youtube and saw this was up. Thank you for talking about subjects like this about how to be productive and still enjoy doing art rather than rushing through it like a chore. <3 x

  12. Really beautiful piece! It was really interesting seeing you go through different colour palettes for this painting. I always struggle to find the right colours when painting and I was wondering how you choose your colours and find great contrasts and compliments like you do? Sorry if you have answered this in a previous video as I'm a little new here o.o

  13. I totally agree on the loose linework style, it's definetly hard to find a method that matches with the desire of having consistent but also loose lineart! What I tried was changing the brush opacity but also the thickness of the brush. sadly none of this worked for me but maybe it will do for someone else!
btw I really like the colours of your outcome, especially the hair! first I was confused why you deleted the shades but now I see that it actually was a pretty good idea, so keep up the good work and don't rush yourself too much 😀

  14. Oh no! Of course I'm going to Seattle that weekend rather than going to comic con.

I definitely feel a pressure to move faster on pieces and I'm always super unsatisfied with the end result. I have very minimal pen and ink pieces that took me days to complete that I'm really pleased with, and then I have bigger full-color pieces that I absolutely hate because I see all the areas I rushed over. It's nice to hear someone talking about slowing down and taking time when I hear so many people talking about the need to do things faster and faster.

  15. Oh goodness thank you for this topic, it is one of my biggest struggles as an artist. I feel watching a lot of speed paints and being influenced by other artists and their progress is a great factor as to why I am always wanting to rush art and feeling disappointed it doesn't turn into a master piece. Social media and technologies are definitely contributing.
